ContentBoost

Privacy Policy

Last updated: February 21, 2026

ContentBoost ("we", "us", "our") operates the website at contentboo.st. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights regarding that data.

1. What We Collect

Free tools (no account required)

When you use our free tools (AI Visibility Checker, Store Roast, SEO Checker), we collect:

  • The store URL you submit and your store name derived from it
  • Your IP address, used for rate limiting and spam prevention
  • A browser fingerprint hash (derived from browser characteristics like screen size, language, and timezone) for spam prevention
  • Email address, if you choose to provide one for recommendations
  • Cloudflare Turnstile verification tokens for bot protection

Paid service (account required)

When you create an account and use the paid service, we additionally collect:

  • Account information (email, name) via Clerk authentication
  • Payment information processed securely by Stripe
  • Your Shopify product catalog (product names, descriptions, prices, images, categories) imported from your store
  • Generated content and your editing preferences
  • Store profile information you provide (brand voice, target audience)

Automatically collected

  • Google Analytics data (page views, feature usage, conversion events). This only runs in production and uses anonymized event tracking.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited)

2. How We Use Your Data

  • Run your store URL through AI search engines to generate visibility reports
  • Import your Shopify catalog to generate product-focused content
  • Process payments and manage your account
  • Prevent spam and abuse via rate limiting and bot detection
  • Send important updates about your account or service (no marketing emails without consent)
  • Improve the product based on aggregated, anonymized usage patterns
  • Respond to your questions and support requests

3. AI Processing

ContentBoost uses third-party AI services to power its features, including AI search, content generation, and analysis. When you use our tools, your store URL, brand name, and product information may be sent to these providers for processing.

We do not send personal information (your email, IP address, payment details) to AI providers. Only your store URL, brand name, and product catalog data are used in AI queries. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

4. Publicly Visible Data

When you use our free tools, some results are publicly accessible:

  • AI Visibility Checker results are accessible via a shareable link. Your store name and the queries checked may appear on the tool's landing page as "recently checked" social proof.
  • Store Roast and SEO Checker results may also be shareable via link.

If you want a result removed, email us and we will delete it promptly.

5. Third-Party Services

Beyond AI providers (listed above), we use:

  • Clerk for authentication and user management
  • Stripe for payment processing. We never store your card details.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection on free tools
  • Google Analytics for anonymized usage tracking
  • Neon for database hosting (your data is stored on Neon-managed PostgreSQL servers)

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

6. Data Retention

  • Free tool results (visibility checks, roasts, SEO checks) are automatically deleted after 30 days.
  • Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days.
  • Generated content is retained for as long as your account is active.
  • Payment records are retained as required by tax and accounting regulations (typically 7 years).
  • Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.

7. Cookies and Local Storage

We use:

  • Essential cookies for authentication and session management (via Clerk). These are required for the service to work.
  • Analytics cookies via Google Analytics to understand how people use the product. You can opt out via your browser settings or a GA opt-out extension.
  • Cloudflare cookies for Turnstile bot verification on free tools.

We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

8. Data Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment card details directly (Stripe handles that). Database access is restricted and encrypted. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

ContentBoost is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

For details on rights under GDPR and CCPA, see our GDPR & Data Rights page.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

11. Content Ownership

You own the content we generate for you. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over content produced for your account. We may use anonymized, aggregated data (e.g., "X% of stores in beauty have AI visibility") for product improvement, but never your specific content or store details.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our service evolves. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice on our website. Continued use of ContentBoost after changes means you accept the updated policy.
